Bandidos de Orgosolo

Un pastor sardo, injustamente sospechado de robo y homicidio, se siente obligado a volverse un prófugo para evitar el arresto. Se da a la fuga en compañía de su hermano menor hacia zonas áridas de la Cerdeña, y por falta de agua y pastos se verá en problemas para mantener vivas a sus ovejas. La película se filmó con actores no profesionales -pastores sardos-.

Bandits of Orgosolo

The movie has all the makings of a quasi-documentary, in the tradition of Flaherty's Man of Aran where men are struggling against the elemental forces of nature as much as with each other. It is a brilliantly photographed film, with lyric and evocative visual poetry, beautifully realized, with few false notes. The harshness of the environment and the misery of the inhabitants of the area create a film that is austere, unrelenting, and utterly truthful.

Un giovane pastore sardo, costretto a ospitare tre banditi, è braccato dalla polizia e non ha altra strada che quella del banditismo. Attento alla lezione di Flaherty, il siciliano De Seta, documentarista al suo 1° lungometraggio, recupera, grazie a un asciutto rigore, un po' chiuso nel suo argomento, il documento di un mondo contadino povero con i suoi comportamenti e valori. Fu girato con attori non professionisti (pastori sardi).
